Discovering the roots of OUR health

ON-SITE WORKSHOP

A guided tour through a wonderful ecosystem that emanates health.

In a healthy and dynamic ecosystem, millions of ecological processes occur simultaneously. The quality and permanence of life depend on these processes, which range from the most tangible, such as the decomposition of organic matter, to the most subtle, such as the sensation generated by the wind.

When we fully perceive a healthy ecosystem and grasp the infinite connections between its elements, it is natural to conceive of ourselves as part of it and understand health as a whole: that which surrounds and inhabits us. This understanding leads us to align ourselves with nature as the primary source of life, fertility, and balance.

The human body hosts its own ecosystem where equivalent processes occur, from digestive to emotional. Learning to connect with nature and interpret it helps us identify our own state of health and find self-regulation, balance, and repair.

Our in-person workshop, "Exploring the Roots of OUR Health," aims to take you by the hand on a deep dive into the ecosystem of the Cultiva Salud Center, a fulfilling space that emanates and teaches health.

IN THIS WORKSHOP:

  • You will learn to understand the principles of soil fertility, the importance of crops, and their effects on human health.
  • You will witness how soil care, cultivation systems, germination, and irrigation, among other factors, determine the quality of both medicinal and vegetable plants.
  • You will reflect on your own health and how you can apply these positive changes to your daily life.
  • You will understand the processes for making medicinal tinctures.

Above all, we hope this workshop will inspire you, allowing you to see with new eyes the profound wonder of nature, its resilience, generosity, beauty, and perfection.

WHAT DOES THE WORKSHOP CONSIST OF?

The Cultiva Salud Center is described as a health sanctuary, a large environmental cell with vigorous life cycles. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a transformative experience to understand the alchemy of the earth and the direct relationship between its health and our own.

We will take a detailed tour of the Center, exploring its most essential components:

WORM COMPOST

Land burned by agrochemicals gradually loses its worms; the soil loses its "intestines" and can no longer nourish itself. This process can only be reversed by maintaining a healthy microbiota, as in the human body.

OUTDOOR GROWING TERRACE

The process of regenerating land through permaculture, a type of agriculture that considers and integrates all living organisms in the ecosystem it occupies, while using biological barriers to prevent soil erosion.

BOTANICAL GARDEN

Designed to shield plants from harsh weather, this greenhouse enables growth in a controlled environment with regulated temperature and humidity, safeguarding against damage or disease caused by overwatering or low temperatures.

SEED GERMINATION

A proper germination process can significantly determine the health and vigor of a plant throughout its life.

MANANTIAL

Clean rivers and springs are vital to human and environmental health. Our management and use of water today will impact the quantity and quality of water available tomorrow.

MUSHROOM GREENHOUSE

In this greenhouse, we focus on cultivating shiitake, maitake, and, primarily, reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), a medicinal mushroom used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine.

CASA DE PIEDRA

A seed bank is essential for biodiversity conservation and food security, with benefits both locally and globally. Our seed bank stores more than 500 varieties, including more than 255 medicinal plant varieties.

LABORATORY

Twenty years ago, we began working in our laboratory, which has two main functions:

  1. Research in agriculture, microbiology, and crops.
  2. The production of hydroalcoholic extracts of medicinal plants for Dervital, our line of herbal remedies, along with honey, medicinal teas, and ferments.

APIARY

Bees emerged on the face of the Earth more than 40 million years ago. When a living being has evolved for such a long period, practically without any anatomical change, we can affirm that we are dealing with a remarkable, nearly perfect being. If bees were to disappear, it would likely trigger the greatest ecological alarm for humanity.

DRYER

Once the seeds are collected, they are cleaned and sent to this location, where ideal conditions—temperature, humidity, ventilation, and light—are present for proper drying. Under these conditions, we can ensure that the seeds dry correctly and remain viable for storage and future planting.
